BLCAC has a team of five fully qualified and experienced coaches.  One is a County Coach, three are Level 2 Coaches and the fifth a Level 1 coach.  Between us we have in excess of 60 Years coaching experience. This experience includes:

  • Being AGB's performance Director in the lead up to and beyond the Sydney Olympics.
  • Intimate involvement, in a similar role with the England Squad for the Commonwealth games in Delhi, the last time archery was part of these games
  • Coaching the Bingham club team to be National Indoor Champions on six separate occasions.
  • Coaching the successful British Forces Team at the Invictus games in 2014
  • One of the coaches was The East Midlands Archery Society’s Coaching Development Officer for several years until quite recently.
  • Coaching on both the Nottinghamshire Archery Society’s Winter Training Squad and the EMAS Junior Development Squad.
  • Two of the coaches are full time teachers ~one a Maths specialist the other a special needs specialist, so we are well equipped to explain things in simple terms
  • Experience of coaching in a wide range of schools colleges and universities

In addition to their coaching all the coaches are experienced archers who shoot a wide range of bows ~ Recurve (including barebow), compound, longbow and Mongolian Bows.

We regularly update our knowledge by attending training courses, both archery and general sports related, one coach took part in the 2013 Nottinghamshire Talented Coaches Development Programme which exposed him to many different sports and approaches to coaching.

We believe this breadth of experience enables us to give new and developing archers the support they need to improve and continue to enjoy their sport.
